I need to draw a polyline; not a closed polygon. Lots of short line segmentss don't work in most situations. Also, need to draw curved segments such as "edit/drag points-on-a-line" feature available from other products.

Pls help.

Hiya, any update on this? I'm on the same situation and not sure if SnagIt is a good tool for this scenario.

Larry, did you manage to find another tool for the job if SnagIt doesn't support it?

Hi,
It sounds a bit to me like the functionality you're hoping for is along the lines of the Pen tool, that one might find in a product like Illustrator. Is that true? Snagit has a pen tool, but it's free-hand. I know using a tablet or something like a Wacom tablet is one way people create nice-looking curved lines and shapes.

Sorry that I don't think we have what you're looking for, but I'd love to learn more about what you're trying to do and any ideas you have for Snagit.

Thanks for posting,

Thanks Mike,

Yes, I was looking for something like the free-hand pen tool but then, once you're finished the software could smooth it to remove the natural shake that a hand drawing is going to produce.

I was thinking about doing digital drawings of this shape (sorry about the bad quality drawing it with the finger on a mobile):

But I don't really know which software I could use for the job, which basically is what the pen tool from Snagit allows you to do, but smooth to straight lines and/or curved lines like the othes produced by the other drawing tools provided.

I'll research Illustrator to see if that one has this feature as well.

Many thanks.

Implement pen lines as editable objects.

I would like to see Snagit (for Mac in my case) implement pen lines as separate objects that can be edited or removed at a later time. My need for this arises from using the product to trace routes on a map; quite often there is the need to remove select portions of a route and redraw, or to change line width or color of a specific portion of a route.
