look at the file extension. Has it been altered somehow? Make sure it's .trec

Sometimes renaming a file can allow it to open. To long of a file name or something odd can corrupt a file. Try renaming it "Recover" or something very simple.See if that works.

You can try extracting the contents of the file. You have to place the file in Camtasia's media bin and extract it to a folder.

You will lose the ability to edit the cursor as a result. That's the only drawback.

Regards,Joe

Try removing the  {  '.   } at the end of .trec
Your file name extension ends in .trec'.

If you rename the entire file at the same time. Change the name and the .trec'. at the same time.

You should receive this warning message.

That will convert it to a .trec file.

looking at that it just seems to be a full stop at the end of sentence rather than the file extension

Your screen shot clearly shows a" Apostrophe and a period" after  {.trec } in your Camtasia screen shot. That's what I'm going by,

hey Joe, I believe the dialog message shows an apostrophe at the start and end of the string value, followed by a period

You are correct,

either way. [ .trec'.  ] is an incorrect file extension and will never be recognized as a legitimate file.

Wow Joe!

Are u kidding???

You have a lot of post and should not sound like a newbie!

the extension is correct and is .trec

What you are seeing is just a sentence with quotation and a stop at the end of whole. Like this:

'  blahblahblah.mp4 '.

The extension still is mp4

not mp4'
not mp4'.
