I have an idea how to improve the user experience for Snagit users with UHD displays.

One change that I'd really like to see that would support UHD is the ability to automatically reduce the size of captures so their data size is smaller. If this was a setting control, I'd set it to 50% of the original size. This would make it easier for me to copy to clipboard then paste into apps that have data size restrictions.

Often what I find happens is, when I use snagit and capture something on my screen, particularly if it's near half the screen, with the resolution of my display, the image size in my clipboard is huge. This gets to be a real problem with apps like Slack or Discord that have size restrictions about images pasted into a conversation. Seeing as I like to do captures directly to clipboard and bypassing the snagit editor, this can be a real problem. I discover that the image in the clipboard is too large. Then I have to go into the editor after all, resize the image, copy it back to the clipboard, then try again.

So if the existing Capture setting 'Scale Image' had a setting for Max Resolution <set px width>, or, Show in Editor, that would do it?

Here's a screen shot of that feature and how to access it and it's various settings.
