I like that the detached viewer isn't tied to the main display

With Camtasia 8, if the main viewer was on top of any other apps, the detached viewer was also. That was frustrating when I wanted to, for example, search for and import media on monitor #1 and bring them into media bin in Camtasia on monitor #2

I like being able to leave the viewer detached and not have it pop forward on monitor #1 just because I'd done something with the main display on monitor #2.

Sometimes I have to dig the viewer out from under browsers, Excel, open folders, etc., but there's no question I prefer this over Camtasia 8.

I don't like it. Why? Cause I have to constantly dock it to my 2nd Monitor every time I open the app. It's a pita. In CS8, it stayed put on my 2nd monitor, when opening the app

Hey! If the TechSmith gods are listening, I say "leave it untied!"
I'd love to see more of the pieces detachable.

I don't know about "untied" or not. I just don't like having to re-dock it to my 2nd monitor every damn time. It's like setting your car seat just like you like it, and having some yahoo change it every single time you are away from your car. At some point soon, that starts getting on your last nerve.

Understood. Sounds like we're talking about 2 different things.

you don't have to dock a detached canvas to a 2nd monitor to work with it

just make it large, and then use shift-tab to cycle between the canvas and the timeline view
