Hey I am new to the camtasia software, and I wonder how would I make a "Custom" animation. For example, I want to drag a picture around and make that picture follow where my mouse went for the animation. Any information on how to make my own animation will help. THANKS!

I suggest that you take a look at this Techsmith training video:

Animation in Camtasia is pretty basic compared to something like Adobe After Effects, but it's quite flexible, and certainly powerful enough to create some pretty decent animations.

Best of all it's easy to learn as you'll see from the video.

As Mal says, animating in Camtasia is fairly easy to do.

However, having said that, one thing that you won't find easy to accomplish is to achieve what you stated. Have an image follow your mouse around. Something like that requires something Camtasia doesn't offer. Something called a "Motion Path".

The good news is that if you have Microsoft PowerPoint, it's easy to animate an image along a Motion Path and achieve exactly that. So if that's what you're after, you should consider using PowerPoint to animate the image movement, then use Camtasia to record it as it plays.

Cheers... Rick :)

if you want to follow the mouse movements, then this tutorial might be helpful ...

this example was done in Camtasia Studio 8, but the technique is valid for Camtasia 2018

just set the animation points to match mouse movement

if working with very short clip segments, you can actually add an animation point on each frame in the project, and make the resulting object/mouse track spot-on ...
