As with ANY decision to upgrade ANY piece of software, you must decide whether the existing version you have is doing the job for you sufficiently or if the new version is offering features you really would like to have.

For some, the newest version offers the ability to do the OCR thing to extract text. So that alone may justify an upgrade if you are among that crowd.

For me, I dearly love the ability they have built in that allows you to select an object in the capture, then drag it somewhere different and have the background automatically filled in. And there are other nice features, such as the outlined text option.

Only you can decide if the upgrade is "worth it". And that's why there is a free trial period! Download it. Install it. Kick the tires and see!

Cheers... Rick :)

Older version tend to eventually become incompatible with the latest Operating systems. I am using 2018 and like it. Techsmith has add a few new useful features.
