Hey peeps. I work on 2 screens. the two screens overlap eachother a bit. 1 is on a ergotron arm and one is static. When i want to start a record, camtasia pops-up an record tool and place this in the right top corner. Because of this, i need to change my screens position, pres record and move things back. And so on, and so on. I simply want to be that pop-up in the left corner and i hope this is possible. I cant find it in the settings so far.

Have you tried dragging the recorders toolbar to the other location before you start recording?

Its my experience that anytime you start a recording.
The toolbar continues to pop up in the same location.
Even after closing and restarting the recorder.

Joe - that's not how the registry "places" windows on start-up. Camtasia has maybe 5 or 6 thousands of lines in the registry. It should be by window (form) name, & pixels: Top, Left, Height, and Width. I'd use "find" but TS doesn't even have the decency to put titles on their Windows forms. Here's one I found for Edge:

Most good developers don't encrypt their registry entries which should be IMHO:
(FormName) - ()Width, ()Height, ()Top, and ()Left. TS developers must have learnt it a different way.

Thats why I said it was a shot in the dark.
If any of the settings were different or a entry was missing. It might make a difference.

Hey info
If its a supported version of Camtasia.
I would open a ticket with support. They should know where to look.

I'd be surprised as hell if any human at TS that you can converse with, knows that a registry even exist. Even the "programmers" may not know if they use 2rd party s/w houses. But I'll call Monday just to see if anyone even knows what we're talking about.

I can always write a registry editor myself (if I have to). But then its one of MY systems at risk!

The problem may be unique to your system.
Its good your involving them.
A couple of years ago.I had a unique SnagIt 2018 problem. One that seemed to plague only me.
No one in this forum was reporting the same behaviour.
It took several days and more than 1 technician to track it down.
They requested various system files over this period of time. They dug deep and solved it.I appreciated the extended effort.
It hasn't cropped up in newer versions.
