I'm so disappointed that this feature still is not in version 8. Why it was removed is beyond me. Is there a shortcut key combination I can use?

P.S. I'm looking for a shortcut that's less awkward than Ctrl Shift Space. Thx.

Techsmith, Please add this button back.

Hello Peggy,

I'd like to try and better understand your suggestion. Do you mean that while in Camtasia Studio, you'd like to be able to start a new recording as quickly as possible? I'm sorry I am not grasping what button was removed.

Sincerely,
Mike Curtis

Hi Mike, On my version 5, I can click the Play from Beginning button on the player while I'm editing a video. Now I'm having to Ctrl Shift Space.

Ahh, I understand. I'm not too sure about the history behind these changes over time, but it's true the preview window has evolved to be more minimalist in nature. Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate your thoughts.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, there is a file called autocam.bat file in your install folder which documents all the command line switches you can use to start recorder without those fancy UI stuff. You may open that file in a text editor and check it out.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Kevin
