I'd Like To See Rulers Added On The Display Monitor Screen

I'd like to see rulers on the display monitor added to help with explicitly positioning elements on the timeline. Sometimes some elements must be placed precisely and it is difficult if they are in different periods in the timeline. I've gotten around the problem by loading a transparent vertical and a horizontal line in my library. I can then overlay the lines over everything and remove them before production. It keeps me from having to consider using Premiere Pro. I love Cam8 for its simplicity and my ability in producing a great video in a matter of minutes.

Add to that the ability to pull guide lines from the rulers.

This is my own creation for adding that functionality.
I would like to see rulers and guides baked into the program as well. But I don't envision Camtasia 8 ever adding this as a feature.

Everyone,

Joe has made a REALLY good work-a-round for the rulers and guides and has even included a grid that you can use to align objects on the screen.  Check out his video and his post page.  His work is so good that I found myself trying to drag a guide from them before remembering they are just a track.  Thanks again, Joe.

I would believe that Cam8 developers would want to include this small but powerful functionality.  I can't imagine what else they would want to add to the next version that would be a definitive advantage for Techsmith users.  I use Cam8 to edit all of my medical videos and it's my go-to for audio, too, if I just need to splice and adjust volume.  My medical projects don't need much more than that and Cam8 and Recorded have a hallowed place on my task bar.

Techsmith, PLEASE consider this and you'll have made a bunch of us happy in feeling listened to for product enhancement ideas and the enhancement itself follows along the lines of Adobe and other video production software.

Best regards,

Rick
