Idea - Add the ability to do Timeline scrubbing with a Horizontal Scroll Wheel

Like the title suggests, I think it'd be really useful if Camtasia supported horizontal scrolling as a way to scrub through the timeline. This would allow for the use of after-market USB-connected video editing peripherals, as well as fancier mice to work quicker in Camtasia.

My current tech bodge to give myself this feature is setting up my mouse scroll wheel to trigger a AutoHotKey Macro that spams either "." or "," depending on which direction I'm trying to go. It's not very fast, but it's still very useful!

It would be nice to see official support for this idea!

Are you on Windows or Mac? I see you tagged both platforms, but I believe this works on Mac (at least with the touch pad, I'm not sure about your specific mouse...)

I'm on Windows! I have a Mac as a backup though. I tagged both just because I figured it would be cool for both via a mouse. Trackpad support is great, but it doesn't help people with iMacs and the like.

Holding Shift + Scrolling Vertically Pans through the timeline, but it doesn't scrub the playhead left or right. Being able to scrub and pan would be a super powerful combo for the user.
