identify portions of video without voice

When recording, I pause my voice, not the recording, when I need to think and then edit out the non voice spaces after I am finished recording. If I pause the recording, it is too easy to forget to "resume". I would like a feature that selects these quiet spaces and allows you to drag the slide line through them one at a time and then select and use the scissors.

have you tried adding markers while capturing; perhaps add one when you stop talking, add another when you resume talking; there is a hotkey for this

with the capture on timeline, it's easy to make selections between the markers using ctrl-shift- [ or ]; then delete

This is a manual approach, I know thats not what you're seeking. You've got my vote for the feature, its been a requested feature for many years now.

The Red and Green timeline indicators can handle it pretty well.
You may want to raise the height of the timeline so you can see the audio waveform better. Picking out the silent areas.

Place the playhead to establish a starting point, then drag the red indicator to the end point.

Use a keyboard shortcut, or right click and use a menu item.
