I'm unable to resize arrows or line thickness in v2018.2.2

I'm unable to resize arrows or line thickness in v2018.2.2... I used to be able to before. Very very frustrating, the arrows are to big/thick. This is in the Basic Theme. In the Urban Theme, the thickness is perfect, but I can't change the colour... as a matter a fact, I can't change the thickness either.

I posted a quick and dirty screen shot showing how to change arrow (and other line) thickness:

You said: "I used to be able to before."
Before what exactly?

Have you rebooted your machine and tried again?

More info would be very helpful for anyone to help you.

I am also having the same issue with the same version of the software. (adjusting pen thickness does not allow me to use that new pen thickness, it reverts back to 7 each and every time)

To the trolls vaguely requesting "more info":

"Before" translates as "in prior versions" as in, "Prior to upgrading to v2018.2.2 I was able to change my pen's line thickness, now I am unable to change the pen thickness and draw new lines with the new thickness." (These are also my symptoms.)

When asking for "more info" what info would be more helpful?
Is there a document with expected information for bug reports?

As a side note, I have rebooted my machine many times, is there a specific feature that you believe requires a reboot in order to change the behavior of the Snagit Editor?

I'm running version 18.0.2
I cannot re-produce the error you're getting in 18.2.2

If you go to TechSmiths webpage.......https://www.techsmith.com/download/oldversions

There are 3 different versions available for download.

I suspect any version may correct the problem? SnagIt version History doesn't reflect that problem being addressed specifically.https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006435067-Snagit-Windows-Version-History

Anyway, I would go for the newest version if I were in your boat. See what happens.
You could uninstall and reinstall an older version as well.

Regards,Joe

Hi there

Threads such as this one can be frustrating. For example, the OP (Patricia Lamarche) comes here with an issue, suggestions are made and the thread seems to just die right there. There is no follow up from the OP to advise what, if anything, resolved the situation. So we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger. And that's unfortunate. Because there was no conclusion posted, it doesn't really help anyone down the road. Such as MaLcoLm Anderson, who came here seeking a solution to the same issue.

So, part of my reason for posting here is in the hope that Patricia Lamarche may see this thread and decide to offer more information advising us all if her problem was ever resolved, and if so, what steps corrected it?

I note that this is MaLcoLm Anderson's first post here. Welcome aboard! But one of your statements puzzles me.

To the trolls vaguely requesting "more info":

I'm curious as to why you view someone asking for more info as a troll?

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding things, and that's entirely possible, but when I see someone refer to another as "a troll", it seems to suggest that the person being identified as a troll is only doing things in efforts to either muddy the waters or just to toss a virtual grenade into a discussion. And I'm not convinced that a simple request for more information strikes me as being very "troll like". In so many cases here, more information is often the key to finding the eventual solution.

Cheers... Rick :)

Troll here as I  just saw this ...

1. grab the selector tool.
2. Click on the arrow you want to resize/edit.
3. Use either the slide tool or a direct number under width to the right of the workspace in the tool properties.
4. This will change the thickness or thinness of the arrow.
5. Added as additional reference by @JL1 image above.
also
6. grab the selector tool.
7. Click on the arrow you want to recolor.
8. Use use the color tool to the right of the workspace in the tool properties.
9. This will change the color of the arrow.
10. Added as additional reference by @JL1 image above.

It sounds to me that you are not selecting the arrow before you try to edit it.

The theme has nothing to do with it as you edit them all the same way.

HOWEVER since we can ascertain all of this from your post there would certainly be no need for any further information to help you solve your problem. Almost like no one should even post questions that they do not want answers/solutions.

Troll out ....

This issue never did get resolved with the version I was working with. I had tried everything that was suggested at the time but nothing worked.

I have since upgraded to a newer version and am not experiencing this issue anymore.

Thanks for the follow-up...
