When I drag an image to lay on top of another the image doesn't render in the original colours, seems to be fading out but i can't see why or where to adjust this..

Hi,

What version of Snagit are you on? This was an issue introduced in macOS 10.13, but should be fixed in 4.1.9 and 2018.

Hi,

Could you upload a picture here of what you're seeing? I haven't heard of screenshots turning yellow before.

Here you go.  What the image is supposed to look like and what it actually turns out to have.

Okay, that's really weird.  When I view the second image in Snagit, the gray looks kind of brown and there's a yellow tinge to the whole thing.  Looking at it here, it looks normal.  Very weird.  :(. I promise I'm not crazy.

Interesting, it appears yellow to me here. I think this is probably something you should open up a ticket with our tech support team for. Hopefully they're able to figure out what's going on!

I'm using SnagIt 2.3.0 (latest) and have experienced this on my MBP as well as my new iMac Pro. It's nuts and I have no idea how to prevent this fading of whatever I drag onto another image. Is there a solution in the works? I'm using MacOS Hivgh Sierra 10.13.6 on a retina 5K. This nearly makes using thius program worthless. Should I just go back to using the Grab utility that comes standard on Mac?

Hi,

Unfortunately Snagit 2 (and 3) are no longer supported. Luckily if you're not ready to upgrade to our latest version (2018.2.1), we do have a tool that allows you to fix your washed out captures (this bug was introduced in macOS High Sierra). Information on this issue and download link for the tool can be found at https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001568311. I hope this helps!

LOL, the immediate blame seems to never fall on Apple.
