Images are too big when copied and pasted

With the newer version of Snagit that I have, I have problems whenever I copy and paste an image into Outlook (ie I want to send a screenshot via email). The image is huge, creating a right/left scroll bar every single time. I have to go and manually resize all of the images. This is annoying and time consuming. I am guessing it is because the screenshots are all being taken at actual size and I have a 21" monitor; however, I didn't have this problem before this more recent version of Snagit. Is there a setting or something else I can change so I don't have to deal with this every time I want to send an image via email?

Can you provide an example image?

Sure. One image is from when I have a new message open to full screen. The other is when I am composing a response and the message is in about 50% of my Outlook screen.

Personally, I'd be willing to bet it has to do with the Windows scaling feature. I always notice my own captures are substantially larger when I post them here than they seem to be in my SnagIt editor. I believe my own scaling is set to the "recommended" 125%.

Let me try taking a look at that.

If you are talking about the zoom, it's a Windows thing. Try minimizing things to your desktop (Windows + D), then right-click the desktop and choose Display Settings.

I took a look at that, thanks. I am at 100% but I don't think that will solve the problem. It is not about anything else that I use - everything else is good. It is only about screenshots that I add into emails. I don't want to change the size of anything else.

One of the things you might want to consider is to configure a SnagIt preset that automatically scales your images for you. The preset would handle the scaling and maybe even copying to the clipboard if you want, so all you would need to do is just open your email and paste.

Rick - In your previous post you're selecting 125% (Recommended), mine and every computer I've come across is "100% (Recommended)"  or  125%  or . .
How did you do that?

LOL, if only I could tell you!

It's always been this way on this particular laptop. I think I may have changed it once during some testing, but generally speaking, it's always been set to that 125% setting.
