Implement Styles for Callouts - So We Can Change the Font Size, Color, or other attributes of more than one at a time

The Boss often changes ideas about how a set of callouts should look. It would help if I could change styles for multiple callouts in one swoop.

It would help especially if I could Ctrl-Click to select multiple specific callouts, and change their style attributes simultaneously.

Thanks for the suggestion. In a project with a lot of callouts, I can see how this would be useful. We'll consider this request for a future version of Camtasia Studio.

Hi Evan,

With CS 8, we’ve added the ability to multi-select objects on the timeline. So now you can select multiple callouts and change many of their style attributes at once: colors, border width, fade times, etc.

Hello,
I have tried this just now to ensure this is working and had no trouble selecting multiple callouts and chaning the style, color, font, font size, fill, etc.

Are you saying you have tried this and it is not working for you?

 I'm using Camtasia 8.6

I can select multiple callouts and change their color and some other attributes.

But I still need to highlight the text in order to change it's size, font style, color etc. I don't know how to highlight the text in multiple callouts at the same time?

Regards, Joe

I just figured out how to do it Kelly.

If you hold the shift key and double click individually on the callouts, you can highlight the text in all of them at the same time. Then you can change font size, color, style.

OK, I've just tried this and it works. I'm happier doing this than changing them all invidually, or doing a Search and Replace on the .camproj file in a text editor (the fast alternative that I'd worked out).

We're glad this is working out for you, Bridgette.

Thanks for using Camtasia!

The workaround isn't bad; I sometimes do it myself, but I think the original proposal still has a lot of merit. Styles always make life a lot easier when you want to maintain consistency and/or update displays.

Please could the shift and double-click trick make its way into the written documentation. I looked long and hard for it, and found this forum entry.
