Windows 7 has an app called Problem Steps Recorder that captures images and adds text as a person does a particular task. It outputs a file with the *.mht extention.

I'd like to do additional markup with SnagIt, but it is not a supported file type for open.

Can you please add that to the supported file types?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the way you would like to use Snagit along with the Problem Steps Recorder.

And while Snagit doesn't have the capability to import .mht files, I do have an idea that might help you achieve what you're hoping for.

After you have a completed .mht file from the Problem Steps Recorder, double-click the new file such that it opens in a web browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer). Once that page has loaded, start up Snagit and perform a scrolling capture of that webpage (check out this video for a demo of scrolling capture, http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-sna... at the 0:53 second mark).

Once the scrolling capture is complete, you can make all the edits needed, and once those are complete you can export your capture back to an .mht file right from within Snagit.

Let me know if you would like me to expound on any of these steps above.

Have a great day!

Jason
