Hmmm, curious. Does the "invisible" stamp actually work to provide the image when you click to place it?

It seems to be broken

I'm not sure I'd say it's broken. In my own view, it's most likely that there are some specifications that TechSmith has internally that are only known to them. As such, anyone outside of TechSmith is left to guess as to what those specifications actually are. For example, in the case of Super Stamps, I believe those are provided by the guy that runs the Super Stamps site. I think his name is Peter and I'm unsure of the last name.

I think these have been around for a while. Certainly they were available before TechSmith added in the ability to search the stamps. And we have learned in the last week or so that the searchable stamps are those in PDF format with specific keywords added.

I did try creating my own and it worked, but I also ended up with a thumbnail that looked all wonky and when I placed the stamp, it had a massive outer area surrounding it.

Sure would be nice to know exactly what we need in order to "roll our own".

Cheers... Rick :)

You wouldn't say it is broken ... what else do you call it when something is not working? I have been in those private meetings too but lets not be so quick to drink the cool aid. If it is broken, not working or whatever, we are not doing anyone including the developers any favors by not pointing it out. If it is something secret known only to them then they can and should point that out but as it sits, it's broken

I know I'm often very pro TechSmith, but that's not why I'm claiming it's not broken. Here's why. To me, if it were broken, it wouldn't work. For anything or for anyone. But it does work for some things as well as for most people.

TechSmith added a new feature. That feature relies on data that simply isn't present for any existing stamps that are either PDFs that aren't equipped with proper keywords or older stamps stored as images in native formats. However, it DOES work for stamps supplied with SnagIt as it installs. So I'm guessing that for a totally new user without installing things like SuperStamps, things would work. But I do see that Dave O'Rourke has replied that it may be a language specific thing.

Note that I'm not saying there isn't a bug or that it can't be improved upon. Nor am I saying that any issues shouldn't be pointed out. In my own opinion, it was a bit short sighted to release it without the ability to add our own tags.

Cheers...  another Rick :)

PRO Techsmith vs what? Non of us are against or we wouldn't be here although I am always in line to point out corporate double talk and associated bullshit. But documenting bugs should not earn one the patina of being anti anything or insulting the product

I have had the blank screen and I have had it return results. Yes it is a new feature  but yes it has some issues.. Softwarecasa stamps? Could be. Kets find out
Lets talk about adding our own search terms
Lets talk about being able to back up our own search terms after we enter them
Lets talk about making sure that searching works
Lets talk about filtering a search
We're CUSTOMERS  presumable with an interest in a product

From the screenshots, it looks like the UI is in French.  I know the keywords in the stamps had to be localized, but I'm not sure if the search will try to match more than one language.  Perhaps try your search using French keywords?  That's an educated guess.

I also know the Snagit team had to instrument each stamp with keywords in order to make the search work.  If the stamps you're searching against haven't been instrumented in this way, then perhaps that's the problem.  Another educated guess.

Sorry to guess.  I'm not on the Snagit team, so I have only a little information on how this works.  I'll send an internal note and see if someone from that team can help clarify.

Then my best guess is that the stamps being searched haven't been instrumented with keywords.  I posted an internal note for the Snagit Win team.

Hi Jean Marc - can you open a ticket with our support team so they can help you with this? https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/requests/new We have seen some occasional issues where indexing of the stamp keywords does not complete, so it would be helpful to know if that's what is happening here. But, regardless, we'd like to get this fixed for you.

Just as an FYI -  the free stamps that ship with Snagit and the free stamps currently available for download from our website are searchable now using English keywords and we have plans to make them searchable using French and German keywords in a free update to Snagit 2019.

SuperStamps is a third-party product that is not owned or managed by TechSmith. SuperStamps v6 (which was released the same day as Snagit 2019) is searchable using English keywords. Older versions of SuperStamps are not searchable because they do not contain keywords.

I hope this helps!

hello Daniel
A ticket is open for some days now and lots of investigations are done. I only post here to know if other people have the same issue or if someboddy found a solution by itself.
I search using english keywords and have superstamps v6
For me it's not indexing problem because keywords works... the result is just invisible.

Here, you can see i'm searching for "cartoon".
The invisible stamps have "cartoon" on it but i can't see it (just mouse flyover work) and i can't use the stamps. ( impossible to put the stamps on a picture)
