Please expand the magnification feature to allow magnifying a specific area drawn with a rectangle in the MAC version of Snagit. The current functionality does not allow you to magnify a specific item, instead of an entire area. I have used this feature in the Windows version of Snagit when creating documentation both written and online and find it very useful. I am finding the magnification feature in its current form is extremely limited. Thank you.

Hi there

I'm a Windows user and I'm very curious as to how you accomplish this. Can you give some more detail on how you do this?

I suppose I should also tell you what I interpreted you to say or ask so we are on the same page.

What I'm reading is that you are editing an image, you want to zoom in for some detailed changes. So you somehow draw a rectangle and after drawing the rectangle the zoom in occurs and magnifies the area you selected. You make your changes to the area, then zoom back out or zoom in to a different area for other changes.

If that's what you are describing, I'd love to know how you manage that.

I suppose it's possible that you are also referring to the effect you can achieve using the Spotlight and Magnify tool. If that's the case, forget my request and accept my apologies for misunderstanding.

Thanks... Rick :)

Earlier this week we release 2019.1.0 which now allows for magnify areas in rectangle and rounded rectangle shapes!

Why only in Mac?  Us Windows users have been asking for that too

Hi Paul,

We do plan to add this feature to Windows as well. We like to deliver value as soon as it’s ready, so we didn’t want to hold this feature back on the Mac side.
