Improve Trimming Function in Techsmith Relay

I was just working with a faculty member who was used to the old trimming tool in Relay. In that tool, he could listen and watch along with the video. When he found the proper video starting point, he could move the slider in place at the exact location he stopped the video. The same was true for the end. In the new editor, the red line where the user stopped the video disappears and the visual of the slide does not accurately represent where the user placed it. This is very problematic and frustrating for the users. As a trainer, I spent more time apologizing for the design flaws than I spend touting the ease of use of the product. I might suggest this issue be addressed. The old trimming tool was very accurate and much easier to use.

Thank you for the feedback, Amanda. If I'm correct it sounds like you are using the trimming functionality that comes with the MacOS recorder. Changes were made to use the native trimming functionality that comes with the operating systems. We will take this feedback into consideration going forward.

Later this month we will be releasing new functionality on the website that will allow users to trim and cut their videos after they have been submitted. I believe you and your users will find this functionality much more to your liking.
