Improve resizing of canvas in SnagIt Editor

In the SnagIt Editor I want to increase the canvas size. By default the canvas size es the size of the captured image. If I want to increase the size to fit something else from the clipboard I can drag the corners of the canvas. When the canvas is at the bottom of the screen it is very difficult to use drag and drop to resize it as it does not scroll. If I select the bottom middle anchor point and drag down I expect the canvas to scroll but this does not happen. I can only drag the anchor point to the bottom of the screen captures pane and it's not possible to enlarge it any further. I then have to scroll up manually and repeat the procedure. I would expect the canvas to scroll as I move the mouse cursor down.
You can see and example of the behaviour in this screencast.

I know it's possible to go to ribbon Image and resize from there but it's more cumbersome.

What I do is make the whole thing smaller using the zoom tool and then drag my canvas to the size I want.

Hi Fredrik,

Thanks for the feedback. We released a new version of Snagit this morning, Snagit 11, and while it doesn't add the desired canvas scrolling behavior you mention, it does center the canvas by default, which together with Manny's zoom workaround would make it easier to increase the canvas size even on the top and left without going to the resize dialog.

Note that zooming can be done pretty easily by holding the Ctrl key and using the mouse wheel, if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel.

I would like to add to this by asking for two related things:

1) The ability to type in the exact dimensions you want for your canvas (I know you can do this when creating a new canvas, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it when re-sizing one... which is annoying because I often drag-to-resize the canvas, but when I let go of my mouse button the resulting canvas size is off by 1 pixel in both dimensions)

2) The ability to lock the canvas size. It's really frustrating when you've got your canvas size just right, then you drop some other element onto your canvas and SnagIt automatically expands the canvas to accommodate the new item. A nice feature in some cases, infuriating in others.

Using SnagIt 2.0.0 for Mac.

However, I am not sure if Techsmith listens, although they say they do...
