Hi. Have you possibly enabled capturing the address field (url) in Snagit? I see there was another person needing this two years ago: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/can-snagit-automatically-add-the-url-as-well-as-the-...

I find this is necessary to prove which site I was on.

You can capture the url plus some other info.
It will be added to the bottom of your image.

You can either edit a capture preset or
Create a new capture preset (recommended)

In the New Preset options :

Select the Image tab, then in the "Effects" field chose "Capture Info"

Click on the options cog wheel and make your choices for what info you want to capture

Click the cog again to close the options window.

Set any other options you may want for this preset
and then click the Big Green "Save Preset"  button.

Name your preset and create a hotkey if you want one.

Use that preset or hotkey when you need to do a capture with info/url caption.

As a side note,  you can also see info of a capture in the editor by clicking in the top menu "View>Details
The info you can highlight and right-click copy in needed.

Hi Dubie. Thanks for a quick reply. I can't find URL under Caption Info. Do I need Premium to do find it? Application Name shows only "Google Chrome". Did you perhaps fill out Custom Text?

Application Name is what needs to be turned on to capture a url.

It's a Chrome thing why you are not getting the url.

Using Firefox (my default browser)  or IE (yikes) will capture the url. I don't know about Edge browser since I run Windows 7 not Windows 10.  I just like Win 7 better.

IE 11 Browser

Sorry I don't have a workaround for Chrome.

Best you can do is use Firefox or IE when you need to capture urls.

Maybe Techsmith will address this issue but I wouldn't hold by breath for it.

P.S. Don't know anything about premium version of Snagit (if thats what you meant)
only free trial or paid version.

Thanks for sharing all those details, Dubie!

The lack of URL capture from Chrome is a Chrome thing...that browser doesn't allow applications like Snagit to capture the URL. Until they change or there's some technical breakthrough, it's just an unfortunate gap. It bugs me, personally, because Chrome is my preferred browser....and I know it is for many other Snagit users.

And yes, there is just the free trial and the licensed version of Snagit. No premium version beyond that.
