Is there a way to make the Magnifier bigger when capturing in Snagit 13 PC? I'm running in a 4k screen, and the magnifier is so small it's useless...

FYI, this is the Camtasia forum; maybe re-post on the Snagit forum

I think a clarification is in order with this one. Which magnifier are you referring to? The one presented at the time you are capturing an image? Or the magnifier tool you use after an image has been captured?

If it's the former, I don't believe there is any way to adjust it. But the magnify tool does let you just draw the magnified area at any size you want.

Cheers... Rick :)

I mean the capture-time magnifier scope. It's a very useful feature that, however, becomes of limited use on a high DPI screen (unless you have microscopic vision)...

I don't have a 4K monitor.

However, with SnagIt 2018 the magnifier is the same size on either my 2560 x 1440 monitor or my 1920 x 1080 monitor. Roughly 1". Shown here.

You would have to download the free trial to test this for yourself.
SnagIt 13 has been replaced by version 2018. It will never be updated or improved. So requesting improvements is "Unfortunately"not going to get you anywhere.
You might what to keep your eyes open for a SnagIt 2019 instead. Considering SnagIt 2018 was released in October of 2017.

I didn't expect they would fix 13, because I understand it's a legacy version. I was just checking if there was a setting somewhere (even if hidden) that allowed you to crank it up.

BTW, I just tested 2018 and they seem to have fixed it there.

Just to clarify. Amended post.

I try to post answers that help other members down the road. So my answers can be narrowly focused for the original poster, yet broadly covered at the same time.

These live on for many years. I didn’t mean to imply you were seeking an upgrade to version 13.
