Insert screen recording into middle of video

Hello, I am using Camtasia 9.  We just made the purchase last week and I have many tutorials to get through, but I have an immediate assignment to insert a screen recording with audio into the middle of a previously recorded video of my presenters.  I will be going through all the tutorials, but in the interest of time with my quick deadline for this project, can anyone tell me which tutorial is best to watch to accomplish my task, so I can quickly get to what I need to learn?  I already know how to do the screen recording, so the tutorial I'd need is how to split and insert (sorry if my terminology is not quite right yet).

Thanks for any direction you can provide!

Hi there

Basically, you should decide whether the new recording should simply replace a segment, or should it be inserted in a way that the original video is split and become longer in duration.

Either way, you will need to split the video. Just put the playhead where the new video should begin, then press the S key to split.

If the new video gets added to extend the playtime, you then drag the second part of the now split video to the right to make room for the new segment. Add the new segment to the timeline inside the gap, then drag the original second half back to the new so there is no gap.

If the new video REPLACES a segment, you now click and drag the beginning part of the second segment to make a gap. Then insert the new segment there.

The videos linked below should help.
