I'm trying to move track 5 in front of 6 and 7.  6 and 7 are synced together and every time I try it moves everything around.  Is there a simple way to do this?

The way I normally operate for this sort of thing is to select everything by pressing Ctrl+A. Then drag it all to the right to introduce a gap. Then click to take focus away. Then click the Track 5 clip and drag it to the gap. Then select everything again. Once all is selected, press the Ctrl key and click to remove focus from the Track 5 clip. Then drag the remaining selection back to where it needs to be.

There may be other ways to achieve it too.

Cheers... Rick :)

If I am reading this correctly you want to move Tracks 6 and 7 down on the timeline so they are to the right of Track 5 ? If not please correct me or if possible make a short video to show what you are trying to do and running into problems with please.

Anyway with that said if you are trying to do what I stated the have you tried using the Grouping and Grouping Tracks 6 and 7 together and the doing a shift click to move them to the right of the track  ? This may be a solution or not but it is a suggestion for you to try.

Thanks for posting and let us know if it helps or not by posting back here please. Have a great day/night.

Cheerio ~ Fred.

Hi, as Rick indicated, you have several options. The option I would use is the 'insert time' feature: If track 5 is in the correct position, click the padlock to lock track 5. Then use the playhead to make  a selection  over the clip on track 5, right click on the selection, select Insert time. All the media on unlocked tracks will move to the right. (NB: if you have additional media on track 5 that we cannot see in this image, be aware that will not move either). Hope this helps.
