We have som problems with mp4 files not playing in the native iOS player within iPhone. We recorded video using Fuseapp and the IPod mp4 profile. iPhone won't let me open the finished mp4 movie within iOS native player.
I believe this happend after the most recent iOS update.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thanks

Hi Terje, we would need a little more information about this- which iphone do you have? The 3GS had different capabilites than the iPhone 4/4S. Are you loading this from iTunes or posting it on a website? Could you upload that video to screencast so we could take a look?

Here's an example. This will not play on iPhone native mediaplayer.
My analysis of two videos, recorded on two different Relay servers, shows they are similar, but only one plays on iPhone. I can't find out what causes the difference with playback.

It opened for me - on my Ipad - in Goodreader - it is realworld video - not captured by Camtasia - maybe that is the problem.

Terje, you may want to talk to the admins for the media server company to make sure they have the correct MIME types set and are delivering the file so it can be recognized by Mobile Safari. Usually you have a webpage with HTML5 video tags for iOS devices.

Your probably right, David. I didn't think of that solution. BUT when I add ".mp4" extention to the MIME Type "video/mpeg", the server (IIS, included in the Relay installation) says: "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.".
Any further help is appreciated. Thanks

Nevermind....MIME Type was supposed to be "video/mp4". Works now!
