Is it possible to highlight an area and darken the background automatically? Snagit 4 (Mac)

It looks like there is no way in Snagit for Mac (4.1.2) to highlight an area and to darken the background at the same time. This feature is available with cheap screen capture tools that cost only a few bucks, and it's a very common need for screen capture editing. Maybe I missed something and it's hidden somewhere, but if it's really missing, please put that feature at the top of the list. Everything else is great, but this feature should definitely be part of Snagit.

I know that the Mac and PC versions offer different features. You might double check to see if you have an "Effects" panel. If you do, you may have the "Spotlight and Magnify" effect available. That's what we see on the PC side. Hopefully it's there for you.

Cheers... Rick :)

Thanks Rick for the quick feedback. There is no "Spotlight and Magnify" effect available in the "Effects" panel.

@Techsmith, please add this feature to Snagit for Mac. It's so useful, and I used this effect a lot with my previous screen capture tool (at 10$), before I switched to Snagit. Everything else is better with Snagit, but I really miss this effect. Thx.

I'm really disappointed in this. Snagit rocks, but this is the one HUGE feature that is missing.
