Is it possible to produce videos that will render well on both a PC and mobile?

New user. Potential dumb question but here goes...

Is there a setting that lets you produce a video that looks good on large and small screens? Or am I just being lazy? I'm just producing short (1 - 2 minute) software demo videos for users. But my boss asked if I can make them work well on a desktop and a mobile.

You need to determine what your target dimensions are for each platform.

But mist mobile devices have at least a resolution of 1280x720, which is a popular res even on a PC, but you could also do 1920x1080 (standard HD “bluray” res) and it should scale down pretty well.

But if you have text elements that need to be easily read, I would consider settling on 1280x720.

Use a video host like YouTube or Vimeo, produce at 1080 or 720, like Bruce suggested, and you'll be golden.   Most online video hosts will auto-adjust resolution for a viewers device and bandwidth.

I've been producing videos in Camtasia at 1280x720 and hosting them on Vimeo. They play fine on my phone. I really didn't do anything specific to make this happen.
