Is it true that TechSmith collects videos you rendered with Camtasia if you are using pirated version?

First of all, for clarification, I am not using any pirated software since I think it is a very bad thing to do just like stealing but a friend of mine said to me that Camtasia collects all data if you are using pirated version of their software including all videos you rendered with it. Is it actually true? If so that is a very badass thing to keep your intellectual property out of being stolen. But if so how is that possible? Do they monitor you trough using the software?

It is TechSmith's policy to NOT openly discuss and share any information about our methodology and processes for collecting data on pirated versions of our software.

I'm sure you can understand our decision for this.

Perhaps one should read the EULA, and determine for themselves what Techsmith has the rights to do or not do.

I seriously doubt that whatever they do is not legal.
