Is Snagit 2020 for Mac a pre-alpha release?!

Here's a couple of observations. The software is currently unusable in any sort of productive way.

  • CMD + A does does nothing in the Library nor Editor
  • File > Select all does nothing in the Library nor Editor
  • When selecting multiple images in the editor, applying an effect (such as a border) only applies to the first image
• When clicking 'Share' with more than one image selected in the editor 'export/share to File' isn't there. Clicking "more sharing options" takes you to sharing settings INSTEAD OF actually sharing to file

Running macOS 10.15.4 (Catalina)
Running Snagit 2020 Version 2020.1.2 (96036)
Snagit has all required permissions set

Hi,

We're really sorry that Snagit did not meet your expectations. I'll do my best to address each item you've mentioned.

1a. Our Library was very recently rewritten to support an update to Catalina, this is a bug that we're working on an hope to have an update for soon.
1b. Select all in the Editor should select any objects that you've drawn on an image, so if an image is blank, it will appear to do nothing
2. this is the same reasoning as item 1, the menu item and the hotkey are bound together
3. Multi-select in the tray is really only for sharing, deleting, reordering, you can only make edits to one image at a time. This is how both the mac and windows versions have always worked.
4. A little backstory here, Snagit Windows had almost a 20 year head-start on the mac version, so there's a few features we're still catching up on. We hope to have this implemented soon.
5. Sharing to multiple images is actually a brand new feature, so it's currently only supported for a few of our sharing options. If you'd like to share multiple items to the file system, you can currently drag and drop from the tray to a Finder window.

I hope this clears up some confusion, and if there's anything else you notice, let us know and we'll try to help you out with those as well!

I see, that certainly clears up a lot questions. Please excuse my somewhat angry comment, I was frustrated with things not behaving as expected.

Some feedback:
If the user has pointed to the "tray" as you call it, make CMD+A select all images here. If the user has pointed to the "editor" window, make CMD+A select all annotations as you say.

Hi,

We just released 2020.1.3 today which fixes command A not selecting anything in the Library.
