Is there a way to "Auto Link" slide MP3 files to slide PNG images in the TRACK TIMELINE? To avoid the manual process?

Version 8.6

Is there a fast, easy way to have Camtasia "auto link up and sync" imported PNG files to a corresponding MP3 audio files.  I would assume the users original naming conventions of the root source files would have to be consistent (i.e. S1, A1) but  It would seem a nice feature or script to run that syncs the two files together either as an option when sending them to the TIMELINE, or as an optional pre-function addon within the ClipBin to marry the files, allow them to match up based on file name and then have them auto import onto the TIMELINE.  If needed, once the files are in the TRACK TIMELINE additional small manual corrections may still be necessary but it would be faster then manually aligning the files.

I assume this is wishful thinking as the audio files are time dependent, and seem to come in fully expanded however the PNG files come in static and the same size.

So, if the PNG file import or drag to the TIMELINE step had a function that could be selected to somehow automatically adjust to an MP3 file of the same name so to, at the very least, come close to matching the length of a corresponding named or numbered MP3 file it would speed up building projects.

I'm no coder, but this in my view might be the same type of code used to Apply Transitions to the entire Track at once, which is a great feature!

Thanks in advance for any responses or ideas, and coders.. please be kind, I am just a lowly training developer..

This appears to be a Camtasia question. You are in the SnagIt forum, or whatever it is called. Different product.

I've made lots of projects like you describe; here's one way I do it ...

That's the way to do it, certainly. I think Brian was looking for a way to do this automatically, perhaps due to a large volume of images (each with its own narration).

Yes, that was a cool way to get them lined up a bit faster, and I will try it.
RG, you're correct my concept was to see if there was a default way, or if one could be generated using a programming script for Camtasia that would on importing, or perhaps when you drag and drop the images and audio files to the tracks that it would auto align and adjust the correct slide image to variable sized audio files as those are not consistent.  I am in version 8 so I will need to see if the features in the videos are available in 8, if not I may have to wait to try what was in the screen cast..
Once again,  TY for sharing!

I don't think there is any way to do this, since the program has no way to know how long each image should should be visible since every audio file would be different.  It would be a great add-on feature (although with a limited number of people who would probably need it regularly).
