Is there a way to import this MP4 (or the MOV) file into Camtasia 9?

I'm trying to import some small MP4 videos into Camtasia 9, but the error message "unsupported media type or require codecs not found" appears. The MP4 files were created from MOV files that were converted to MP4 in the Online Video Converter site. First I tried to import the MOV files, but I got the same error message, then I converted the MOV files to MP4 and tried again to import them into Camtasia, but the error message appears again. Is there a way to import the MP4 or MOV clips?

Bellow the information on the MP4 files, that I got using the MEDIAINFO software:

The solution I found is just capturing the video clips with Camtasia Recorder...  It just works!

This may sound like a stupid response but did you try drag and drop? I had an MP4 that wouldn't import but drag and drop worked. Doesn't make sense as I would think both methods should use the same code!
Hope this helps,
Bill

Thanks Bill! I tried drag and drop, but Camtasia doesn't accept the videos. I'm installing HandBrake to convert again the MOV files to MP4 using a codec that Camtasia recognizes.

these things usually turn out to be encoding problems... try running your source file through Handbrake, converting it to Mp4 in the process... Handbrake should properly encode it so it gets recognized. Handbrake is a free download and a great utility to have handy when you need it.

I have installed handbrake, converted my .mts files to .mp4 and Camtasia 9 will still not recognize them.

can you play the .mts files locally?

if so, play them while capturing them with Camtasia Recorder; use those new captures in your project

To convert MP4 to AVI with VLC, please check the tutorials here:

1. Ensure VLC has been installed to your computer and launch it. Make sure it's fully functional before attempting to convert your videos.

2. Add files- to do this, click on "file" from the menu bar and then "add" to allow you import files.

3. Next, you should click "convert/save" to open up a window that will clearly indicate where the files have come from and the folder to save to after conversion. Give the folder a suitable name.

4. Lastly, you can click on the "start" button which will begin the conversion process and they will be saved to the folder you selected. My Review Here for more information about agen bola online.
