Is there a way to mask a clip with you choosing the areas go crop other than a square?

I'd love to do masking on camtasia but it is very difficult that I only know how to crop images into squares. If there is nothing available, I suggest for this to be updated

Hi Jessica,

Currently, the crop tool only works to make a rectangular crop. I just wanted to confirm that you weren't failing to locate additional options. I will change your post to a feature request (aka "idea"), so that others may join the conversation and show their support. It would help if you could provide a couple of specific use cases you can think of.

In the meantime, depending on what exact visual effect you're looking for, you may be able to use the "remove a color" option to create a custom mask. For example:

In an image editing program, you could make a simple graphic like this:

Then, if you bring that into your Camtasia project, you could:

1. Position it so that it covers your video content.
2. Use the "remove a color" option to remove the green star, which would then show through to any video or image you had below.

This is a little limited, but it might work for what you had in mind, or maybe you could use the technique for something else.

If you're not familiar with the "remove a color" feature, here is a tutorial you might watch:

Thanks for posting.
