Is there a way to mute or hide a track without locking it?

When I click the eye icon it also locks the track. How do I hide a track, without losing the ability to make edits or having to worry about it losing sync.
Thanks!

That is one of the small little issues I find with Camtasia's timeline editing.  It has it's +'s and -'s.  This would be a great addition to the next version.  For now, as a constant user, i'm not sure if there is a quick alternative.  Also, either have auto save on or ctrl C a lot.  I use a lot of music production software that is time line editing and CS could learn a lot from some of the streamline functions those offer

One of the biggest fixes they could address would be a much more dynamic text entry area and editor.  At this point, workflow is much better if you type into a text editor and copy / paste into the little gray box.  Ugh.  also, in that same area of the main canvas, the wheel scroll up and down works in some, but not others.  That's also a little bug I find annoying.  But I know they listen at suggestions very well.

I am surprised to find that you cannot simply mute the audio and still apply cuts to it. Strange.

I've never tried to edit while muting an audio track so I've never ran into this issue. I tested for it a moment ago and confirm this behavior. Sound more like a bug to me. I'm using Camtasia 8.6

Thanks for being such a helpful bunch! I guess this is another one for my list of requests from Camtasia....
