Is there an ability to record a sequence of Editing steps in Snagit Editor?

Snagit is awesome. I just wish there was a way to record a sequence of editing steps that I routinely perform in the editor, such as a Macro recording feature.

For example: when I capture an object, and the editor opens up. I do the following:
1) resize the image
2) set sharpness
3) apply shadow
4) click Save as.

I do this so many times when capturing screen shots for documentation, I can almost do it without looking.

Does anyone know if it's possible to record editing squences? Or is there a 3rd party tool that works well with Snagit that you use?

Hello Mark,

Have you tried the profiles? If you apply the same effects with the same settings to these captures it might be just what you're looking for. At a minimum I think it will get you closer and save some steps.

Here's a tutorial about profiles:

The other idea I had was to include these commands in your Quick Access toolbar. I show this at the 4:13 mark of the video in use #11: That might at least save some clicks for you as well.

Let me know what you think!
I'm not familiar with any 3rd party tools, but I hope someone from the community might chime in if there is a better way.

Thanks Mike, for pointing me to look again at the Profiles and Quick access toolbar. Yes, the profiles get me very close to what I want. If profiles also had a sharpness option in the effects options, that would be great. Short of that, I've added the sharpen button to the quick access toolbar in the editor. That is great, but would be even better if it remembered the last sharpness setting I selected, since I pretty much use the same setting each time (75%).

I also downloaded and installed a 3rd party tool "AutoHotkey", which I found works better than "AutoIt" (another tool). In case anyone is interested, below is an AutoHotkey script I created that works well in Snagit.

Thanks again!

This script defines the hotkey Ctrl+Alt+6 to do the following: resize the image to 600px, set sharpness to 75%, set a shadow style, then do Save-As, and stop. Works in Snagit 9.1.2 while on the "Image" tab in the editor. Mouse positions may have to be changed depending how you've configured the snagit editor window.

WinActivate, Snagit Editor

I use auto hot key and was looking for something similar to what you're looking for.  Great suggestion, thanks!
