Is there any way Camtasia can brighten a video? I have some videos recorded with my dash cam at early morning that I'd like to brighten a bit.

I'd ready this is not possible with Camtasia. Is that true? Is it something that will be added?

Thanks for the requests.  Camtasia Studio has grown up as a screen recorder.  When the source footage comes from the screen, you get exactly what is shown on the screen.  It's no lighter or darker than what you saw on screen during recording.  But as cameras have become more and more common, the mixture of screen video with camera video has become the norm, and the need for brightness and other color adjustments has increased.

We are listening, and we'd like to hear from you.  Please make sure to +1 this thread as David suggested if you'd like to see this feature.  Bonus points if you tell us why this feature be valuable to you.  We're always weighing the requests against our available time, and trying to add the features you'd find most valuable.

Thanks again for your continued feedback.

Hi Dave and David, It's been 10-11 months since you guys responded and I was hoping to ask for an update from TechSmith on the status of this as a new feature - ability to change video color/brightness. Or are you guys waiting for more users to request this before putting it into development?

Hello,

Thank you and others for your comments on this topic.
We have identified this as a feature to be added in our next major release.

I would like to draw your attention to this post:

And in particular, video #6:

... that shows how this feature will work in the new version of Camtasia. I know this doesn't help those who need this feature right now, however, we want you to know we read these posts and understand our customers need for this feature.

I've been following this post for 3 years now and it impresses me that TechSmith has not given up after such a long time.  I use Camtasia Studio on a daily basis.  Without this feature, I've had to utilize other methods and software to "improvise, adapt, and overcome".  I am really looking forward to this!  To be honest, I gave up on this community board some time ago.  3 years is a long time to wait for such an obviously needed feature.  It is great to know that you do take our suggestions seriously.  It may have taken 3 years, but the fact that you took action means something positive to me!  Thank you from a long time user of Camtasia Studio!
