In Camtasia Studio 9, is there a way to re-center the circles after you crop an image? They just stay where the center of the original image, and makes moving it around basically impossible to do without it flipping around all over the place.

kayakmans method is good,

But it you need/want a transparent background. This doesn’t work. You could re-crop an image that doesn’t require any transparency.

Or use remove a color to remove the background. Provided the image doesn’t contain the color of the background used.

Here’s another approach.

Place a Text callout on the canvas. Size it Full Screen. It would be possible to size it smaller as long as its centered on the canvas. But for animations purposes. I believe a Full screen callout keeps things simple in the long run.

So, add the Text callout full screen. Delete the ABC text. Ensure that the callout is centered using the snap grid lines.

Lock the Text Track. It will want to move quite easily by accident. Your ice cream cone is very small and the text callout covers the entire canvas. You want to ensure the text callout remains centered. Locking it saves you the trouble of repositioning it. I bumped it out of place twice creating these screen shots. So lock it,Then...

Drag your ice cream cone to center using snap grid.

Unlock the Text Callout.

Select both Tracks and Group them.

Now you can move and animate them as one.

I think I need more coffee.

When I first read through this thread I was seeing "crop circles" in my mind's eye.

Happy Thursday all! Rick :)
