Issues with producing

I have created a video that is just over 10 minutes but I am not able to produce it.  I tried making a MP4 and to You Tube.  It acts like it completes everything within 1 minute and then there is nothing there.

try producing using a custom production to MP4 with controller; save the production to a location on your local hard drive

does that work?

No it didn't.  I found that suggestion on-line so I tried to exporting to zip file and trying again.  I also tried to YouTube, MOV, and MP4 with and without controllers.

OK, thanks for trying

does the production fail at the same percent [of progress] every time?

if so, it might be a glitch in the project

can you post a screenshot of the project on timeline at ctl-F10 [max zoom out]; minimize canvas size so we can see all/many tracks

also, this tutorial might be helpful ...

Apparently my work is blocking the link - so I will take me a bit to look at that, but I have exported several movies before and never had an issue.

It goes from 0% to saying that it is done (with not errors) - but then no file.

The only think I did different from other videos was hotspot links on an image

what file types is the project made from [trec captures, AVI, MP4, other video types, etc]?

also, as a crude test, change name of project so there are no spaces within the name string

any help?

The original files were either MOV or MP4.  I converted the MOV files to MP4 using Wondershare Video Converter.  I changed the file name to "A" but it did the same thing.

thanks for the additional info

if only 1 clip in project, can you play that clip in some viewer [but not in Camtasia]?

if so, play it while recapturing it with Camtasia Recorder

use that trec file in project

any luck with that approach?

I have several movies in the clip.  What I tried was removing files and did only the first minute and that worked.  So somewhere I have a corrupt file that I will have to find.

the tutorial I linked to above describes a method of using successive produce-selection-as functions to try and locate where in the project a glitch might be

try making a selection of 1st half of project, then right click and use produce selection as

if that works, try same for 2nd half, etc.

It is one image that was causing an error.  It is an image not a video too.  Thank you!  Good to know that if it doesn't render it could be all because of one image.

glad you found the problem

I have had similar problems with things like overlapping transitions, staggered callout starts, 1 frame clips, etc

only way to find/fix is to ID where in project failure occurs, then look at what's there and try making small changes to stuff    working with timeline at max zoom in [ctl-F11] can help ID little things
