We have SCORM Enabled file and it remembers the cache from previous sessions.
Ex. The video is 10 minutes and we have define SCORM at 100%, mean i have to complete the video whole at once. Is there a way in camtasia that each time when i play the video, it starts from the begining?

On a reverse engineering point-of-view, how do you get it such that the smart player remembers where the user was watching last time they watched a video? With my smart players, it always goes back to the start of the video - and some of our videos are 3+ hours long! I'd like it so that it remembers last position played!

Resuming is a feature of using SCORM wrapper hosted in an LMS.  Smart player will save state when supported using the provided SCORM api's.

Hello,

There is currently no way to disable SCORM bookmarking from within Camtasia or the TechSmith Smart Player which is used to play back the video in the LMS.

Could you provide some more context on why bookmarking is not desired in your use case?  I know some LMS have option to limit a user to 1 view of the SCORM content.  Then the user will not be resuming the video.

Thanks,
Ben

When we set the success criteria to 100%, LMS plays the content where it left off and we are getting incomplete status even we complete the training.

Here is the test scenarios:

We play the video in our LMS and stop at half way, we go back to LMS and play it again. Video starts from where it was left off and after we complete the video and return back to our LMS, it still marked as incomplete.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.  The player is designed to remember what you have already watched.  When resuming a video previously viewed video is marked as viewed.  So what you described is not the desired outcome.  The outcome should have been marked "complete".

Could you tell me a couple things?
  1. What version of Camtasia are you using?
  2. What version of SCORM are you using?
  3. What LMS are you using?
I fixed a bunch of issues with SCORM bookmarking last week. If you are using Camtasia 2019, could you check which version of the TechSmith Smart Player is bundled in your SCORM package?  Do do that follow these steps:

  1. Locate the SCORM production on your drive
  2. If it is a zip file, extract it
  3. Inside a folder called "scripts" you see a file named techsmith-smart-player.min.js
  4. Open that in a text editor and at the top you could see some text like what is below:
    /**
     * TechSmith Smart Player v5.49.1
     */

  5. What is the version number contained in the file you opened?
Thanks,
Ben

Thank you for this information.  You are using an older version of the TechSmith Smart Player. Would you mind updating the TechSmith Smart Player to the latest version and see if you get better results?  The latest version as of right now is 5.51.1.  You can do this two ways.

  1. Republish your SCORM package from Camtasia.  Camtasia 2019 will reach out and pull down the latest version of Smart Player at production time.  If you do that, double check to make sure you have that version.
  2. Or you can manually download the latest version of the TechSmith Smart Player and update the 2 files in the SCORM package.  Follow the instructions for Camtasia 2018 in this help article.
Let me know what you find.
Ben
