Nice idea, but rather than add step numbers to arrows, could they perhaps add an arrow as another shape type?  Or do you want the step number to be separate from the shape?

Thanks for the quick response.

I do customer support. I am taking application screenshots and using arrows mainly (sometimes message boxes) tell the customer what TABs/Buttons to click/select.

It would be very helpful to achieve both arrows and numbers using single action and not go later on and add numbering to each arrow.

Hope this clarifies.

I use it for a very similar purpose, software help articles..  You know there is a sort of arrow already?  In the r13 'Step' tool?

There are four shapes you can use:

You can flip, stretch and rotate them.  I tend to use the circle but mostly the tear drop, and I haven't felt the need for an arrow.  Your needs may differ though,

The fact that you were not aware of this tool confirms what a lot of us feel about the r13 UI.  Too many things are not visible.

Anyway, good luck! :)

BTW, they auto number - which makes them even easier to use.

I'm not sure I totally agree with a conclusion that because one person was unaware of something it indicates a UI failure. ;)

The above was just a comment in passing. What my real reason is for posting to this thread is to perhaps make a suggestion. I think E Franco makes a nice suggestion. Basically, what I personally interpret as being asked for is more flexibility with the Step tool. And I have to say I agree with that!

What would be way cool is if we could group elements, then save the group to the Quick Styles. As you add the group from Quick Styles, the number or letter should increment. This would save lots of time and easily provide for infinite variety.

Here are just a few I did while playing around.

Cheers... Rick :)

So the numbering would carry across the objects?  I like that a lot.
