It would be very valuable if Snagit could copy a 3D image and output it as a .U3D file.

U3D files are used to incorporate interactive 3D images in PDF pages, readable by the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. These PDF files are readily distributable and the interactive images can be read offline and with no other software.  See for example  Newe, A. (2015). "Towards an easier creation of three-dimensional data for embedding into scholarly 3D PDF (Portable Document Format) files." PeerJ 3: e794.  (This journal is Open Access.)

I hate to burst your bubble, but SnagIt isn't even a 3D application. Making the task currently impossible at every level.

Editing 3-D images is more of a specialty than common place.  Blender is a free program that should be able to handle what you wish.
Photoshop 3-D now called Photoshop CC will work as well.

There are many other applications that will work. I suggest you Google search for them and find one that works for you.

Its a safe bet SnagIt won't be going 3-D anytime soon, or ever as far as that goes.
