I've tried to center text (sometimes it's okay) using at least two ways (Home/Center and Format/Align text) but the text does not budge. This is crucial for me to solve as I'll be doing hundreds of slides. I don't know where else to go for help. I have Win10, Camtasia 8 with 2007 PP with add-on.

Soo, you are trying to accomplish this in PowerPoint or in Camtasia?

Okay, so I'm guessing you are trying to center the text in PowerPoint, not Camtasia, right?

Assuming that's the case, how did you add the text? Is it a shape that contains text or is it a Text Box? Can you share a screen shot of what it looks like in PowerPoint?

Things I would try.

  1. Turn on the ruler and check to see if there is anything odd with margins or tab stops.
  2. Select all the text and cut it out. Open windows Notepad and paste into Notepad. Select all the text in Notepad and cut from there, then paste as plain text back into the Text Box.
  3. Copy a "working" text box and paste into the same slide. Then delete the problem text box.
Cheers... Rick :)

And if you can't sort it, feel free to save the PPT as a different file name, then delete all slides but the one you are having problems with and email it to me and I'd be happy to take a look at it on my end to see what's up.

If you choose to do this, my address is rickstone1975 (at) gmail (dot) com

So fbtstudies in your screenshot you are trying to align the text in PPT.

What should work is

Highlight the text so it is selected (Click and drag over the text to highlight it)

Then under the Home Tab in the Paragraph section use the Horizontal alignment options to justify the text left, right or center.

For the vertical alignment click the vertical align icon.

You can also Right-Click on the border of the text box I believe and then
Format Text Box, and then click the Text Box tab

Maybe those options will work for you.

Been a long while since I used ppt 07 so just going on digging up old
references and resources.

:)
