We wanted to reach out to the community here to ensure that you are aware of a new update for Jing on Mac. We are bringing this to your attention due to a known issue relating to the 'Check for Updates' function not working on Jing for Mac. This means that to benefit from future updates you will need to download the new version of Jing, then install it manually. You can download this update to Jing here.
This update will address an issue where Jing Mac users are prompted to update, however the update fails and an error is shown. All that needs to be done is the update manually installed after downloading it from here.
Clicking on the "Install Now" option seen here:

While there is a warning about 32-bit apps, 64-bit apps won't be required until the new MacOS release this fall, and we'll have an update out for that before then.
