Jing issue and question

Hi,

Jing fails on my computer about once a fortnight. This is the error message.

Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.

I end up having to re-log in. How do I stop this from happening.

Also, fyi, if I click the "TechSmith Technical Support" link that the error message tells me to contact, I get a 404 error.

Also, with SWF going away, can we get MP4 as an output from Jing, instead?

Cheers,

Sean

Jing is an antiquated program who's copyright expired in 2012.

I'm surprised TechSmith  still offers it. It functions, but new features are about as likely as a snowstorm in July in Arizona. This is just my opinion. But you got to be realistic about a free program that's this old.
It's not even protected against copyright infringement.

I use SnagIt and I like it. You should think about getting it. It records 4K monitors in mp4 format. Run a free trial and see if you like it.

I like Jing because using it is more straightforward and efficient than Snagit, which I have also but which has a pia user interface. I use Camtasia, also.

Additionally, I use Jing when I teach, because my students can get it for free (and also because it's very easy to use). I require all students in one of my classes to install Jing.

I had no idea its copyright had been let go and it was discontinued. That's a shame. I was looking forward to MP4 output for those short videos.

Cheers,

Sean
