Snagit crashing on Mac

Trying to use the video capture feature in SnagIt on my Macbook Pro always results in SnagIt crashing. Is there something I need to change to make this feature work?

It has been impossible to reply to tech for assistance. See attached image of my attempt. Video capture will not work with MAC OS 10.7 on my Core 7 Macbook Pro.

Guys, your links posted in the text of your replies (Mike's latest reply anyway) no longer work. You may want to update them, especially since the crashing issue noted here is still (yes still) an issue 3 years later.

Yeah, the problem is we switched the provider for our support site a few years ago and all the old links stopped working; and there was no easy way for us to update all the old links here. Sometimes it's easy to figure out what the old link was, other times (like here) not so much.

I would suggest exploring our current support site at https://support.techsmith.com. There are definitely some suggestions there for Snagit Mac crash issues and if you can't find what you're looking for, you can open a new support ticket. You can generally expect a response within one business day through that site.

I recently bought the SnagIt software for my macbook and it constantly experience this same problem when I'm trying to use the video capture function. Looks like this problem was never really resolved after all this time!

I'm experiencing the same issue with snagit video capture crashing on my mac. was this ever fixed? It's very frustrating when I record an hour long video and it crashes toward the end.

I just want to reiterate, if you're having crash issues like this, please use https://support.techsmith.com/

Lots of odd things can cause crashes, and it's highly likely that it's not the same thing for each user.

We would not ship the software if recording crashed during our testing (internal or beta), so it's likely we don't know about whatever you're running into. If you open a ticket we can better get to the root cause of the issue.
