Jing embed code creating two video players

I'm helping a Pro member with his account. Recently, when he started posting videos to a webpage (WordPress) it posts two copies of the video -- it's never done this before, but always does so now. The first video works fine and is the standard player that has always worked. The second video features a different player/interface and doesn't actually seem to play. It appears immediately below the first video when he posts the embed code.

He is using Jing to record and Screencast for hosting the video. When he grabs the video embed code directly from Screencast, rather than from Jing when the video is done recording, it works fine and doesn't post the second video/video player, so the issue seems to be with Jing.

We just want to know how to get rid of the second video/video player when using the embed code from Jing. I have tried replicating the problem myself with the free version of Jing and have been unable to do so.

I have attached a screenshot that shows the player interface for the second (non-functioning) video player. I also attached an image of the embed code, but can post here in the topic body if that would be better.

Thank you!

Hello Jordan,

Wow. This is a good one. I checked with support and they've seen this a couple of times, and their best guess is for some reason Wordpress is duplicating the code.

Here are a couple of ideas, and if these don't work, I'd like to direct you to contact one of our support team members so they can crawl into that code a bit more.

First of all, have you tried this Wordpress Screencast.com plugin? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s...

A couple of guys here at work made it, and it's not an official TechSmith offering, but I know people find it valuable.

A lower tech method you may have tried is deleting all the code, and then put the code back in from scratch. That has been reported to help.

By the way, what you're seeing in that second controller is our fallback to HTML5 if Flash is not supported. You could delete the iframe tag, but you'd lose the fallback functionality.

Here's the link to open a case with one of our Support team members: http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/uti...

Good luck. I'll keep my eyes peeled in case we can discover any sort of pattern.

I love the plugin! But I have another problem. I want the video to be playable full-screen, and the only preset I find that allows that is the iPad preset. But, it disables the 'Pause at Start' setting. When I use the embed code I can change it to autostart='false' How can I use the plugin and give the parameter autostart="false"??

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your detailed and speedy response. I'm going to try the plugin later today and will report back as to whether or not that fixed the issue.

Thanks again!

Thanks, Mike. The plugin doesn't quite "solve" the problem but it does allow me to circumvent it. I'd be interested to know if you guys figure out why WP is duplicating the code, but in the meantime this works nicely.

Thanks again!

I am embedding in my Zendesk forums and my video is doing the same thing. I've been embedding for a couple years using Screencast as the library because it's much easier to manage.

I uploaded this week, copied the embed code into their HTML editor and BOOM...double video. When i looked at the HTML after it was saved, it definitely multiplied to more code.

I checked with my Zendesk support folks, we tested some stuff, and it looks like there's been a change with SC embed code - maybe the HTML fallback stuff?

I know enough HTML to be dangerous - what do I need to remove from the end of the code?
