The Jing update that was mandated today completely does not work with my multiple monitors any more. As soon as I hit capture, my left monitor display appears on the right monitor and I can only capture from that one monitor then. This is really a nuisance and makes it nearly unusable.

I have the same thing - how maddening! Now I have to drag things to the left monitor to get a screenshot.

Hi Chris and Steve,

Have you tried exiting and re-opening Jing? I have been able to reproduce the issue or a similar issue a few times with my setup here, but only if I alter the display configuration or plugin an external monitor after I have already had Jing running and taken a capture.

Just want to make sure I'm heading down the right path.

If you want, could you also respond with some info about your display configuration and system? OS version, # of monitors, and maybe a screenshot of the display configuration would be helpful.

Thanks,
Chris

I had the same issue, restarting Jing fixed it.

I am on Windows 7 Pro, laptop set as secondary monitor and external monitor set as primary.

Thanks

I experience the same issue. I have a 3 monitor setup.

Capture goes to the left monitor (presumably because this is "monitor 1" in most configurations)

Re-starting Jing seems to address the issue. My guess is that the new version of Jing is having trouble recognizing changes in monitor configuration. E.g. when I undock my laptop and re-dock it again.

Using Jing 2.8.12339.1

I'm having the same problem, but never reconfigure my displays. When Jing first launches, it runs fine. After some indeterminate amount of time (maybe after locking?) suddenly the display shifts like reported above.

Win 8, Jing 2.8.12339, left (non-primary) monitor rotated 90 CW.

Having the same issue with my dual monitor setup on Windows 7 64 bit. When I restart Jing, it functions correctly for one capture. Then after that single capture, Jing will not function until it is restarted again. In other words, I have to restart Jing after every single capture. Very annoying! If the problem is not resolved soon, I will likely need to find a different solution.

I had the same issue. It started when I upgraded to windows 8. I have 4 monitors from left to right:

1366x768
768x1355 (vertical) - default monitor
1920x1080
1440x900

However, I just upgraded to version 2.8.13007 and so far (a few hours into using it) the problem seems fixed.

I have the latest version of Jing 2.9.15255.  I normally have 2 monitors running and Jing works fine.  When I open my laptop for a 3rd monitor and try to use Jing, it distorts everything so it is larger than my monitor and unable to use Jing to capture my image.  I've restarted Jing after opening my 3rd monitor and still same issue. Any ideas?

i have the same version of Jing but am not able to capture using 2 screens.  I have to use a docking station as my new laptop does not have an HDMI connection.  Whenever i have the 2nd screen working, i click on Jing to do a capture and it shuts down.  So i can't take a screenshot at all.  What is your configuration?  Is your 2nd montitor plugged directly into your computer/laptop?  Thanks!
