Jing to Screencast hangs

For the past few weeks, uploads from Jing Pro to our Screencast Pro account seem to hang, then eventually finish (after 10 minutes or more). These are pretty small videos (5-10MB) and we are on a pretty speedy business-class Internet connection. Are there any known issues with the uploading process? Here is a pic of hung process bar. It's been camped out at this 2.86MB progress for 5 minutes or so now (not sure how helpful this might be).

Hrm, that's certainly not expected and the first I believe we've heard of this.

You may want to open a ticket with Support at http://support.techsmith.com to ensure this is tracked and best resolved.

In the meantime, the first idea I have is what happens if you save your video to the desktop and then sign into Screencast.com and use the "Upload Content" button in the Web UI to see what happens. That might give us a clue that Jing itself has something to do with it.

Thanks for the reply, Mike. I'll probably open a ticket. For what it's worth, I did what you suggested (save the video then uploaded it to Screencast via the website) and it worked with no problem. Took about 2 minutes to do a 16MB file. That's an ok work around for now, but we really love the seamlessness of doing it all right in Jing.

i have the same problem. I can do about 3 Jings in a row and then I get a hang that is only solved by restarting my computer. The screencast is recorded locally and then I upload it. This is time consuming to do this this way. My students and I are addicted to Jing so we really want this resolved. I work on a Mac.

We have been having this problem a lot lately with our Jing PRO account.  I use Jing very frequently to do demos for clients and it's really been a problem lately. Can someone please take a look?

Do you all mean Jing Free as the Jing Pro went along the wayside so I am assuming you are referring to the Screencast Pro Account on screencast.com If that is the case they had been experincing some server issues and all should be good now. Have you tried uploading agin to see if it makes a difference or not ? Let us know and if not you may want to put in a support ticket which is free to do. the link is below:

Thanks for posting and please consider posting your feedback here for other users to see and know if it is now working or not. thanks again and have a great day.

Yes, uploading to Screencast Pro has been very unreliable for the past couple weeks, very often takes multiple attempts to get even short videos to upload. Makes me sad, this has always been such a rock solid product for us and now many people in our company are starting to look for alternatives. I know it's not my network because it's happening in our offices in CT, MD, and UT.

Something that is supposed to serve the purpose of time-saver cannot start functioning as a time-suck and survive. Too bad, I got our whole company using Jing years ago and have promoted it to a whole bunch of clients and friends over the years.

Please fix it soon. Once people switch to something that works reliably you'll have a hard time getting them back...
