Just upgraded from earlier (better) SnagIt version, which had one click for front color, canvas color, Save As, Paste, Undo/Redo. These are necessary to keep work fast. Why did you go backwards & lose functionality?

  • Bewildered that you chose to make SnagIt less functional.

There are more functions missing as well: the editor's box for text that allowed us to pull up and use prior text strings, one-step quick process for frames, frame with solid color and text on solid box, eyedrop icon access, etc. The "improvement" of using a copy icon that's universally accepted in all software that TechSmith thinks requires adding hard "Copy all" text beside it (instead of hover/bubble text or none at all) when you could instead add a paste icon in that valuable window real estate is a stunningly poor choice.

Why have a pull down window with icons that should be on a toolbar? Why make graphic editing slower, more cumbersome (and irritating to the extent that it's poorly designed)? Why not put that pull down menu of icons in a toggle visual tab on the left side where they used to be? Are graphic editors not primarily using computers with large screens? This version makes me wonder if it's designed for cell phones. If so, why not provide both layout options so a desktop version is available?

Please consider learning from Microsoft Word, which has all of their icons on toolbars organized by tab categories. They pack them in with small icons so they are all available. They use hover bubble explanations for new users, which is helpful and functional.

I'm incredulous with this "new and improved" upgrade. Am considering going back to the prior version when it was functional.

The TechSmith educational videos used to be the best in the tech industry. The current ones are very good, but are not comprehensive on all of the software functions as they used to be, and the educational page with the videos is not as functional as the earlier ones.

SnagIt used to be totally amazing, and way ahead of its time. This "upgrade" is disappointing. Please always value function over form. Please consider making it useful, quick, and easy to use again. ...just my two cents. :)
