Keep Snagit Editor running minimized?

I always use the Editor after taking a screenshot. This means that I have the "Preview in Editor" checked. But after I am done with the editing i often use CMD+W to close the Editor window. The problem is that when I do that the Editor program quits. That means that every time I take a screenshot, I have to wait for the Editor to boot up which takes about 3-5 seconds. Why can't the editor behave like every other Mac program and not close itself just because you close the open window?????

I keep seeing something about an option to "Keep Editor running in the background" but there is no such option anywhere.

This is seriously disturbing and I am evaluating on switching software just because of this.

Preferences >> General tab. It's the first item listed. Check it to turn it on.

I have the same request, and I believe that option in Preferences only works for the Capture utility, not the Editor. I'm having an extra problem with this b/c my Editor is taking about about 90 seconds to load every time (which I'll go to Support with). But it's still an option I'd like since I don't want to wait any amount of time to get annotating after I take a capture, but I also don't like window clutter. It seems like the majority of my apps (e.g. Slack) let you close but stay running, so I'd at least like it to be an option. Also Hi TechSmithies!
