Hi,
Can I buy Camtasia studio 7 and get the V8 for free, But keep the two versions on the same computer ? (That's because I know from experience new version can be buggy and and don't want my workflow to suffer from taht).
Thank you.

Hello Robert. I have always had 2 version of Camtasia Studio on my Windows 7 PC if you are using the same PC Version. I currently have CS 7 and CS 6 and there is no problems I have experienced as of yet. I hope this helps and thanks for posting. Have a great day!

Hi Robert,

I just wanted to make sure you got an official response. So:

Yes, you can run major versions of Camtasia Studio side-by-side.

If I have Camtasia 7 & 8 installed, how can I specify which version is my default version.  I only need version 7 for special cases, otherwise I want version 8 as my default.

generally, the last version you install will be treated as the default app; if you install CS 8 after CS 7 is already installed, CS 8 should behave as the default

you can reverse the installation order if you want CS 7 as the default

I've switched default orders many times
